Military Hero for April 2024.

Our military hero for April is William Pozzi.

Originally from Victoria, Pozzi was raised in Southern CA, after his father’s military career on the West Coast. In the early 60’s he volunteered for the Navy and wound up on a submarine. Soon he was given a chance to try out for the Navy Seal program that had just been instituted.

He deployed to ocean environments across the globe.…many of which we can’t talk about.

Pozzi says one of his most meaningful assignments was the recovery of the Apollo 12 space capsule in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

After his 22 years of service, Pozzi was looking for a place to settle down….that’s when he thought…why not Victoria?  Since his return to Victoria he has been a high school teacher at St. Joseph’s Academy for 12 years.
