PAUL PATTERSON

Year: Senior

Sport: Swimming

Comment: The senior won two individual titles and was part of two relay champions at the Coastal Canyon League Swimming Championships last Thursday at the Rancho Simi Aquatic Center. Patterson set the school and league record in winning the 100 freestyle in 47.47 seconds and won the 100 breaststroke in 59.05. Patterson teamed with Jackson Mulchay, Kalani Martin and Stefano Pozzi to set a school and meet record in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:29.27. He teamed with Ben Butler, Pozzi and Kalani Martin to win the 400 freestyle relay in 3:20.04 as the Scorpions captured the team championship. Patterson has committed to play water polo and swim at Cal Lutheran University.

SARAH BECKMAN

School: Ventura

Year: Junior

Sport: Swimming

Comment: The Star’s two-time Girls Swimmer of the Year added two more league titles to her haul of individual accomplishments during her stellar high school career. Beckman set the overall league and meet record in winning the 100 butterfly in 53.42 seconds and won the 100 freestyle in 53.42 at the Channel League Swimming Championships last Thursday at Dos Pueblos High. Last season, Beckman won the 100 butterfly and 200 freestyle titles at the Channel finals. As a freshman, she won the 100 freestyle and 100 butterfly at the Pacific View League finals.
