    VanEtten man sentenced after violating order of protection

    VANETTEN, N.Y. ( WETM ) – A VanEtten man has been sentenced to serve time in state prison after he pleaded guilty to a criminal contempt charge back in April in Schuyler County Court.

    According to the Schuyler County District Attorney’s Office, Joshua R. White, 38, was sentenced on May 2, by Hon. Matthew C. Hayden to serve 1-3 years in state prison after he pleaded guilty to criminal contempt in the first degree, a class E felony, on April 11.

    White’s charge stems from an incident where he violated an order of protection by threatening and damaging a vehicle that belonged to the person he was supposed to stay away from.

    The case was prosecuted by Schuyler County Chief Assistant District Attorney Jeremy Hourihan.
