Make Music Day returns to Huntsville
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Get ready music fans! The Huntsville Music Office is inviting the community to join in the celebration of Make Music Day Huntsville on Friday, June 21. This annual event, part of a global initiative spanning over 1,000 cities, welcomes participants of all skill levels. Hosted by the Huntsville Music Office and the Huntsville Hospital Music Therapy Program, the event aims to showcase the city's diverse music scene.

Crews working to restore power following early morning storms
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - Crews are still working to restore service after a severe storm swept through the Tennessee Valley early Monday morning. According to Todd Long with Huntsville Utilities, most of the Madison County power outages are in cluster spreads throughout the county; however, there’s a large outage in the Huntsville medical district. The area most impacted in Madison County stems from Pratt Avenue South to Governors Drive and Gallatin Street east to Owens Drive.

Huntsville council approves $7.5 million contract for recreation center
The Huntsville City Council has approved a $7.5 million construction contract for a recreation center on the west side of town. Chorba Contracting Corporation was awarded the contract to build the Martin Road Recreation Center. The city purchased about five acres of land on Martin Road just west of the intersection with Zeirdt Road for the center.
