Sturgis baseball almost back to .500
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - The Sturgis baseball team took two games from Douglas on Sunday. In Game 1, the Scoopers won 16-1 and in Game 2, they won 1-0 via a forfeit. Sturgis is almost back to .500 on the season at 7-8. The team has one more game in the regular season on Tuesday at home versus Rapid City Christian.
AMA Pro Racing continues efforts to host flat track motorcycle races in downtown Sturgis
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - AMA Pro Racing is making a final push to host flat track races in downtown Sturgis at the end of the 2024 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Last month, Sturgis voters overwhelmingly voted against the city’s agreement with AMA to host the race with a count of 1,031 to 437. Despite this decision, AMA was granted an extension by Fox Broadcasting to come to a new agreement by the end of May. AMA has submitted a new proposal to be considered by the city’s leadership.
‘StardustFest’ gives Black Hills artists chance to show their talents
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - ‘StardustFest’ is a one-day music festival and vendor expo hosted at Deadwood Mountain Grand. Saturday was the festival’s third annual appearance at the casino, bringing together a wide variety of visual and musical artists. StardustFest is the creation of Rapid City singer/songwriter Bobbie Jo Kuhl, who said she understood the frustrations of trying to break through as an artist and wanted to provide others with an opportunity to do so.
