The Cardinals plated the game's only run in the first inning after leadoff batter Luke Zeringue hit a single to center field. Shortstop Evan Arcement's sac bunt allowed Zeringue to advance all the way to third. Jesuit and Mount Carmel win regional track and field team championships
Jesuit and Mount Carmel won Class 5A regional track and field team championships on the strength of their distance runners Wednesday at Hahnville. Jesuit, a regional track team champion for the first time in school history, clinched the team points lead when junior Brady Mullen and sophomore Brady Monahan finished first and third in the 3,200 meters. Mullen also ran anchor on the winning 4x800 relay that finished less than one second ahead of Brother Martin.
