The center is funded through a $10 million lead gift from the Wine Spectator Scholarship Foundation. The groundbreaking also kicked off a capital campaign to raise $4 million for the Wine and Hospitality Training Center. Together, the two centers will create the Wine Education Center Complex, which will more than double classroom and training space with nearly 8,000 square feet of modern learning space for the college’s Food and Wine career Pathway. Search underway for inmate who escaped from Delta Conservation Camp in Solano County
SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is searching for an inmate who escaped from a minimum-security facility in Solano County Monday morning.Corrections officials said 36-year-old James Xiong, an inmate at Delta Conservation Camp east of Suisun City, was last seen at 7 a.m. during breakfast. Xiong did not report for work at 9 a.m., prompting a search of the grounds.According to CDCR, Xiong was received from Fresno County in 2015 to serve a six-year sentence for first degree robbery and a three-year concurrent sentence for vehicle theft with a prior felony conviction. MERCED — The UC Board of Regents Academic and Student Affairs Committee approved a proposal to increase the tuition of graduate programs Wednesday. The UC Board of Regents is holding its monthly meeting Tuesday to Thursday at UC Merced. Most of the proposals were passed by a 7-0 vote for a period of six years.
