Summit County Sheriff's Office identifies suspect in Green, Uniontown manhunt

The Summit County Sheriff's Office has identified the suspect at the center of a manhunt that took place in Green and Uniontown on Saturday.

According to the sheriff's office, the man has been identified as Raymond Klisz, 48, of Akron.

Klisz is charged with having weapons under disability, a third-degree felony; violation of a protection order, a third-degree felony; inducing panic, a first-degree misdemeanor; aggravated menacing, a first-degree misdemeanor; and criminal mischief, a third-degree misdemeanor.

Authorities say that at around 11 a.m. Saturday, deputies responded to a home in Green after Klisz allegedly went to the residence, which violated a protection order.

Prior to the deputies' arrival, Klisz went into the nearby woods and was believed to have a gun on him, authorities said.

Klisz then traveled to Uniontown Community Park, which was evacuated but fled the area. Law enforcement conducted a search but were unable to find him.

Klisz is 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 155 pounds. He has blonde hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information about Klisz's whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff's office at 330-643-2181 or dial 911.

Residents asked to shelter in place

Uniontown Police asked residents to stay in their homes earlier while they searched for a man who allegedly threatened someone. The search was later called off, and authorities asked everyone to remain hyper-vigilant and report anything suspicious.

Residents living near the Uniontown Community Park, Apollo Street and Moonglo Streets were asked to lock their doors, police said in a Facebook post.
