South Bend road closures for paving coming to Main Street on Sept. 8-9
SOUTH BEND — Road closures are expected on Main Street between Ewing Avenue and Sample Street in South Bend for paving operations, according to a press release. The closures will occur in two phases, with each phase covering a different section of the street. Construction schedule Phase 1: On Sept. 8, Main Street between Ewing and Indiana avenues will be closed for milling and paving. This expected to reopen by the end of the day Sept. 9. Phase 2: On Sept. 9, Main Street between Indiana Avenue and Sample Street will be closed for milling and paving. This is expected to reopen by the end of the day Sept. 10. A final surface course will be applied during a one-day full closure the following week, with pavement striping to follow under limited traffic restrictions, according to the release. East-west traffic will be maintained at the Ewing and Indiana intersections during the paving operations, according to the release.
