MOV Health Department building closed, still aims to help community
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - The Wood Co. Office of the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department has been closed due to a water pipe break over the Memorial Day weekend. Even though the building itself is closed to the public due to the damages caused by the pipe break, Amy Phelps, Public Information Officer with the MOV Health Department, says that they are working on alternate ways of delivering services to the community until clean up and repairs are finished. She says that the Wood County WIC appointments were being done in the Wirt County Office for today only, and that from now until they are back in their normal office, they will be providing WIC visits in the Jackson Community Building in Vienna.
