TULSA, Okla. — Food On The Move (FOTM) participated in The Day That Music Cares on Friday, which is a nationwide service event hosted by the Recording Academy.

The event is an annual day of service that is focused on bringing music professionals and fans together to volunteer locally.

FOX23 spoke with the founder of FOTM and musician Taylor Hanson.

Hanson said the event was a merging of worlds between music professionals and local communities.

“This is a great chance for us to get those creatives connected to something that is really meaningful,” Hanson said.

FOTM volunteers gathered to prepare its new 4,000 square-foot refrigerated space that aims to support local farmers and the food system.

Hanson said they are aiming to open their new 10,000 square-foot urban farm by Christmas.

“All of us, we need to eat better. We need to eat local, we need to eat closer, but oftentimes the most fresh and the stuff that is really quality is expensive. We want it to be more affordable and more accessible,” Hanson said.
