TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Police said officers made eight traffic stops in a 25 mph school zone on Friday, including a teacher who was going 50 mph.

Tulsa Police said one officer has written 287 speeding citations in school zones so far this school year.

"In the City of Tulsa, speeding in a school zone is punishable by a fine up to $500," Tulsa Police said in a Facebook post. "School is just about over, but we want to remind drivers of the importance of adhering to speed limits, especially in school zones."
