TRAPPE — An Easton man has been arrested for an incident that took place on Howell Point Road on March 23 in Trappe.

Yahjay N. Greene, 22, was arrested Thursday by the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and charged with home invasion, kidnapping, first-degree assault, armed robbery, reckless endangerment, use of a firearm in a violent crime, conspiracy to commit the crimes and other related charges.

In a news release, the Sheriff's Office said that around 4 a.m. on March 23, deputies responded to multiple reports of shots fired in the area of Howell Point Road near Hunter Lane. When the deputies arrived on the scene, they came across a person walking along Howell Point Road.

Through investigation, police said they determined the person was the victim of a kidnapping and armed robbery that started in a home on Main Street.

Police said the victim reported that they were forced into a vehicle by gunpoint and driven from the home on Main Street. The victim reported that they were able to escape the assailants on Howell Point Road.

Police said investigators identified Greene as being involved in the incident. They contacted the United States Marshal’s Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force for help with locating Greene.

Upon investigation, Greene was located and arrested without incident in Sykesville on Thursday, police said. He was transported to Talbot County Central Booking Facility and had an initial appearance before a district court commissioner.

He is being held at the Talbot County Detention Center without bond.

The Sheriff's Office said it was assisted by the U.S. Marshal’s Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, Federal Bureau of Investigation and Cambridge Police Department for this investigation, which is on-going.

Police said anyone with information about the case can contact Sergeant J. Aita at 410-822-1020.
