Several roads closed, impacted in Sevier County after severe storms
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Sevier County Emergency Management Agency has reported several closed roads due to severe storms late Sunday evening into early Monday morning. The first round of severe storms hit the East Tennessee region late Sunday evening, bringing large hail and strong winds. The second round of storms then started to impact the region, putting several counties into Tornado Warnings.

Road work, lane closures planned for Louisville Road
Drivers traveling part of Louisville Road will note road work and lane closures starting Tuesday and continuing for several months. In a press release, representatives of the city of Alcoa state that contractors with the Tennessee Department of Transportation will begin a road widening and improvement project at the Louisville Road bridge Tuesday. By Friday, May 31, city officials said, TDOT staff expect the signals will be installed and the part of the road under construction will be taken to one lane of traffic.
