The Baker baseball team concluded its regular season by traveling to Milton-Freewater for a single nonleague game against Mac-Hi on Tuesday, May 14. The Pioneers, a former league rival that has dropped from Class 4A to Class 3A, rallied for an 8-7 win in eight innings.
Police Jail Hermiston Man for Alleged Domestic Violence Attack
A Hermiston man is in the Umatilla County Jail on several domestic violence related counts, including strangulation and sexual assault. Hermiston police Wednesday evening, May 8, arrested Cesar Macias Delatorre, 47, in relation to a May 1 attack on an adult in his household, according to state court records. The Umatilla County Distrct Attorney’s Office on May 9 brought eight preliminary charges against Delatorre: one count each of unlawful use of a weapon and menacing and two counts each of strangulation, fourth-degree assault and second-degree sexual abuse.

UCSO investigating theft of portable generators in Milton-Freewater
MILTON-FREEWATER – The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of five portable generators over the weekend from the Milton-Freewater Pioneer Posse Grounds, 84581 OR-11. UCSO Capt. Sterrin Ward said dispatch received a call around 8 a.m. reporting the generators were taken from the grounds where the Milton-Freewater Junior Show and Sale was being held.
Inaugural Pasco Urban Revival Days set for June 8
PASCO, Wash.-The inaugural Pasco Urban Revival Days, an initiative from the City’s Inspection Services, are scheduled for Saturday, June 8. PUR-D, an initiative to foster community pride and connections through neighborhood clean-up events, is funded by a grant from the Community Development Block Grant Program awarded in 2023, according to the City of Pasco.
