North Oregon Coast Sympony receives $1,000 grant
The North Oregon Coast Symphony is the recipient of a $1,000 grant from the Clatsop County Cultural Coalition, through the Oregon Cultural Trust. The grant was used to purchase needed percussion equipment, including a snare drum with stand, cymbal with stand, and a triangle, as well as sticks, strikers and mallets.
Seaside boys golf advances to state tournament
Tuesday afternoon saw the Seaside High School boys golf team accomplish their season-long mission. After the scores were tabulated, Seaside and Scappoose came out on top in the 4A Special District 1 Tournament and were named co-district champions with a two-day score of 692.

Leadership transition planned at Astoria Senior Center
Larry Miller, who has served as the executive director of the Astoria Senior Center for over a decade, will be stepping down from his role. Astoria FFA chapter places second in district forestry event

Unsealed records in the missing persons case of Joan Leigh Hall have sparked renewed interest in the 1983 disappearance of the Warrenton High School senior. Dean Andal, the businessman and former California assemblyman who petitioned Clatsop County Circuit Court to lift a protective order in place since 2018, has been studying the hundreds of pages of notes, interviews and police reports released by the sheriff’s office.
