TOLONO, Ill. (WCIA) — The Tolono Park District is asking the public not to put duct tape on their courts as they work to professionally restripe the surfaces.

Tennis courts are also often used by pickleball players. However, the size of pickleball courts are much smaller and have more boundary lines, so some players opt to place temporary markers using tape. However, many will use blue painter’s tape or, like the experts at USA Pickleball , green Frog Tape, as the strength of duct tape can be damaging to tennis courts.

Officials at the Tolono Park District said court users keep placing duct tape on surfaces, making washing and striping difficult. The striping process will go fairly quickly, officials said, once the tape is removed.

The request comes just a little over a week after the Park District also urged park-goers to stop vandalizing their restroom facilities. If the vandalism doesn’t cease, officials said their bathrooms may permanently close.
