11-year-old cancer survivor serves as Honorary Cubs Bat Kid
CHICAGO - An 11-year-old cancer survivor from Oak Lawn met his favorite athletes from the Chicago Cubs while serving at the Honorary Cubs Bat Kid at Saturday's game. Marty Brogan was diagnosed with stage IV rhabdomyosarcoma at age 4. Today, Marty is in remission but still sees his doctors at Advocate Children's Hospital regularly for follow-up care.

Weather photo exhibition to be deinstalled Thursday, May 30
LANSING, Ill. (May 18, 2024) – The 24 photographs that comprise the “Lansing Through the Seasons” photo exhibition will be deinstalled from the library’s gallery wall on Thursday, May 30. Library Outreach Coordinator Andrew Harootunian will assist members of the Journal team with unhooking the exhibits from the cable hanging system and packaging them in their original boxes for pick-up.
