Memorial Day plans altered due to weather
The threat for severe thunderstorms and flash flooding caused organizers to cancel Memorial Day parades in the region. VFW 7069 in Clarks Summit, Lackawanna County announced on Facebook that the Memorial Day Parade planned for 11 a.m. has been cancelled. Coal Township in Northumberland County canceled their parade as well.
Community activists call for firing of Binghamton police officer who used excessive force
Activists and community advocates are demanding that a Binghamton police officer who knelt on a man’s neck during an arrest last year be fired. Their calls come after the New York State Attorney General’s Office found that Officer Brad Kaczynski used excessive force during an arrest last year. The AG's office recommended the department discipline Kaczynski, including possibly firing him.
Homeland Security investigation ongoing at two NEPA malls

Deposit Man Charged in Death of Toddler Released on Bail
The Deposit man accused of killing a toddler over Mother's Day weekend has been released on bail. According to the Delaware County District Attorney, James Christ, Jr. was released after bail was set at $10,000 cash and $20,000 bond. Initially, he had been remanded without bail. Christ, Jr. was initially charged with Assault in the 1st degree and Manslaughter in the 2nd degree after an investigation by state police.
