Red Lobsters in Victoria and Tyler have joined the list of closed Texas locations, which has grown to ten since closures began last week. As of Thursday morning, nearly 100 Red Lobster locations across 28 states had abruptly closed. The closures began just days before the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Florida, as announced Sunday night.

Margie Ann Singletary Bell, 91, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Saturday, May 11, 2024. She was born at home on September 8, 1932 in Alto to John Albert and Otha B. Rozelle Singletary. Margie graduated from Alto High School and continued her education at Stephen F. Austin University earning her Bachelor’s of Science in Home Economics. She was introduced to the love of her life, William T. Bell, by her future mother- in-law in Orange. They wed on June 23, 1954.
