The latest chapter in the Vandebilt/E.D. White rivalry concluded with Vandebilt advancing to Sulphur after defeating E.D. White in a Best of 3 series in the Division II Select State Quarterfinals. Despite E.D. White winning Game 1, Vandebilt rallied back, winning Games 2 and 3 to secure their fourth consecutive berth to the Division II Select State Semifinals. Coach Chad Menard commended his team's perseverance after bouncing back from a Game 1 loss. Vandebilt's pitching, particularly Owen Gaudet and John Wade, played a crucial role in controlling the series. Bryce Thibodeaux's relief pitching sealed the win in Game 3. Now, Vandebilt faces Teurlings Catholic in the Semifinals, aiming for another shot at the State Championship.
