Worland’s Manaia Peterson Furthers Her Track Career at Iowa Central
Worland senior Manaia Peterson will continue her track and field career in college after signing at Iowa Central Community College. Peterson is a four-time qualifier for the state track championships during her Warriors career, and last year, she helped Worland place second in the girls’ team standings. Peterson has pre-qualified for next week’s state track meet in the 3A discus after a toss of 122-08 at the Bobcat Invite in Thermopolis on May 3, 2024. That throw currently ranks her fourth in 3A.
Soccer Game Preview: Worland on Home-Turf
Worland is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Douglas is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Worland Warriors will take on the Douglas Bearcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
RSHS Dominates Worland, GRHS Battles Cody’s Top-Ranked Fillies
SWEETWATER COUNTY – For the final week of the regular season, the Green River and Rock Springs Softball teams went up to Cody and Worland. Friday, Green River faced Worland while Rock Springs faced Cody. The two teams ended up falling short in their conference games while Green River managed to turn things around in their non-conference game.
Lady Dogies corralled by Warriors
The Lady Dogies began round two of conference play Friday as they headed over the mountain for a rematch against the Lady Warriors of Worland. In the first meeting between the two teams, Worland came in ranked second in 3A and went home with a hard-fought 6-0 win. According to head coach Cami Willyard, on Friday her team didn’t seem to come to play and the now No. 3-ranked Lady Warriors cruised to an 8-0 victory.
