WBI Energy Advancing Bakken East Natural Gas Pipeline

(Watford City, ND) — WBI Energy is moving closer to building a natural gas pipeline from the Bakken to central and eastern North Dakota. The Bismarck-based company announced a “Final Investment Decision” for the proposed pipeline, meaning the next step will be to file with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for approval. Pipeline Director Justin Kringstad tells Prairie Public NewsRoom that the FERC has full regulatory power over the final approval. Kringstad says the first section of the pipe will be from Watford City to Bismarck and the second would extend it from Bismarck to Fargo. It could be in operation as early as 2030.
