Ryle defeats East Carter in first round of KHSAA state baseball tournament
When Ryle starting pitcher Sam Eppley exited the Raiders' state tournament game against East Carter with elbow soreness after just 30 pitches, it could have spelled trouble. "Guys like (Highlands coach) Jeremy Baioni and (Beechwood coach) Kevin Gray kind of warned us that things are going to happen that you're not used to, and Sam kind of tweaking it a little bit in the second inning, it's one of those that's kind of a gut check," head coach Joe Aylor said.
