BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - The groundbreaking for the $50 million Star Amphitheater is happening Monday morning, June 3, as a legal effort is underway to stop construction. The Black Contractors Association of Alabama and others are suing the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center Authority, claiming it did not follow inclusion policies established by the city and county when selecting the contractor for the project.
