Allegheny County Police issue warning over nationwide scam involving hot air balloon festival
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Allegheny County Police are warning the public of a scam that's going on throughout the country, including right here in the Pittsburgh area.Allegheny County Police say that several people showed up over the weekend looking for a hot air balloon festival that they had bought pre-paid tickets for.Police say the event was advertised to be taking place along Buffalo Drive in South Park -- but there was no such event happening.According to police, it appears that this type of event being advertised is part of a nationwide scam that's going on. Police are now investigating and asking anyone with information to contact the County Police Tip Line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS.

On a Thursday afternoon, a young man brings a few items to the counter at a vintage clothing store in Bellevue. “You like Slipknot?” 22-year-old shop owner Christian Meskanick asks the customer after seeing one of the t-shirts. “I like the shirts,” the man replies, and they laugh. Meskanick mentions to the customer that he bought another Slipknot shirt from him last year. As he rings him up for $70 of clothes, he asks the customer which summer concerts he plans to attend.
Fatal Deer Vs. Motorcycle Accident
Cambria County coroner Jeff Lees says a 75-year-old man has died after he was ejected from his motorcycle during a crash Saturday afternoon. Lees identified the motorcyclist as Robert Hazlett, of Export, Pa. Officials say the crash occurred around 3:30 p.m. Saturday along Four Mile Run Road in Westmoreland County.
