Teen charged with DWI after deadly Rocky Mount crash; parents charged, police say
ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WNCN) — A Rocky Mount teenager and her parents were charged in connection with a deadly crash that happened in April, according to police. On April 14 shortly after 7 p.m., the Rocky Mount Police Department responded to a crash on US 64 Alt West Hwy at Springfield Road. Quanisha Avent, 29, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said a 2-year-old in Avent’s vehicle sustained injuries and was transported to ECU Medical Center.

SCOTLAND NECK, N.C. (WNCN) — Scotland Neck police arrested a man in connection with a triple shooting that happened on May 11. On May 11, around 10 a.m., Chief Parker and Captain Hilliard responded to the 1700 block of Wood Lawn Drive in Scotland Neck regarding three victims that had been shot.
