City, Tallahassee police must end unruly gang behavior near Myers Park

I have notified the city and the Tallahassee Police Department over 15 times in the past year or so about constant gang activity in and around Myers Park, yet shootings still occur. Why?

Gangs of people constantly congregate around Myers Park and at Harrison and Monroe streets every weekend between 12 a.m. to 4 a.m., playing outrageously loud music, drag racing and shooting off guns. I have asked for constant patrols from the police, community officers and private security but no action has been taken. Why?

Are there thousands of people around between 12 a.m. to 5 a.m. that you can't see these gangs congregating all the time weekend after weekend? Shootings in the area of Cascades Park and the nearby mall at Apalachee Parkway are only moments away. If we had regular patrols as requested these gatherings can be stopped and shootings eliminated. Very easy. What is so hard about patrolling these areas every weekend?
