A Hazelhurst woman was recently arrested in Douglas by the Coffee County Drug Unit after methamphetamine was found inside her purse during a traffic stop, according to a preliminary report. Weekly jail bookings also indicate that the driver of the vehicle, another woman, was taken into custody on a felony probation warrant.

Justin Gering, 30, and Tyler Tavis, 23, have each been sentenced to 60 months in federal prison followed by one year of supervised release. Their convictions were for arson of property belonging to an institution and organization receiving federal financial assistance.
