Planned waterfront park in Charles secures federal funding
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced earlier this spring that the Popes Creek Waterfront Park Living Shoreline Design was one of 22 recipients of funding through the federal Coastal Zone Management Act. The Maryland Fire Marshal is investigating after Leonardtown resident Anthony Cleaver Mason, 64, allegedly set a blaze at the Super Eight Motel in California. First responders from multiple agencies were called shortly after 8 p.m. on Monday, June 3 to the motel in the 22800 block of Three Notch Road to investigate a reported disturbance after an employee called 911 to report that some guests were arguing.
Fifteen-Win Season Ends In Regionals For Bruins Baseball
A promising season for the Broadneck baseball team ended abruptly as they lost 7-5 at home to Leonardtown in the regional semifinals on May 11.
