When the former Memorial Elementary School building was sold in February after nearly a decade on the market, a condition of the sale agreement called for East Jackson Community Schools to retain a single brick from the old schoolhouse.

JACKSON COUNTY, MI – A new training facility near Jackson aims to help prepare youths and adults for careers in manufacturing. During its 87th annual meeting on Monday, May 13, the Jackson Area Manufacturers Association, along with The Shop Rat Foundation, announced the purchase of a 26,000-square-foot facility at 3517 Scheele Drive in Blackman Township.
