UPDATE: Ohio officials capture escaped prisoner

(WTRF) – UPDATE: Monroe County Sheriff Charles Black Jr. tells 7NEWS that 33-year-old Nicole Pauley was recaptured by multiple police agencies at 4:12pm on Monday.

Pauley escaped from custody on her way back from court on Monday at approximately 1:35pm. She was facing charges from Morgan County, Ohio, but was being held in Monroe County.

After a confrontation with an officer in the patrol car, Pauley managed to escape and fled into the woods.

Pauley was eventually located and arrested with the help of drones and K9s. She was taken to a hospital in Marietta for evaluation, and was fine, other than scrapes and bruises from running through the woods, and a prior injury to her ankle.

Multiple law enforcement agencies including Morgan County, Monroe County, Noble County and Cambridge Post 30 of the Ohio Highway Patrol were involved in the search.

Ohio officials are looking for escaped prisoner.

Officials did not give a name of the prisoner but said she was a 5’4 white 33-year-old female prisoner, with brown/blonde hair green eyes, weighing about 135 pounds.

The female prisoner is wearing a red top, no shoes and has no restraints.

Officials say the female prisoner escaped from a transport unit from another county. The escaped happen near the Noble/Monroe County line in SR78.

Noble County Schools said they are holding all student drivers headed to the Summerfield area and the following buses. (Bobbie Mason, Ed Jones and Chris Rataiczak – bus 16, 7 and 5) Those wanting to pick up your students can go to the high school. Noble County Schools says when all safe, they will bring the remaining students home by bus.
