SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The city of Sullivan is looking to beautify the downtown with the arrival of yet another Sullivan Flower Flood.

The yearly effort consists of local volunteers planting flowers around the downtown. While preparations have been underway for weeks, the actual planting will occur Friday.

Anyone who would like to help out is encouraged to gather at the Buffalo on the northwest corner of the square Friday morning at 9 a.m.

“We will be planting in flower beds at the Sullivan County Public Library, the Sullivan Civic Center, around stoplight boxes, and on the corners of Section Street and Wolfe Street,” A city Facebook post reads. “There will also be plantings happening along the Sully Trail around the Sullivan Square.”

Gardening tools will be available for volunteers who need them.
