Heartbroken mom of teen rapper who accidentally shot himself in video recalls horror scene

The heartbroken mother of Raleigh Freeman III has shared her anguishing experience of finding her son dead.

The young rapper , also known by his stage name Rylo Huncho, accidentally shot himself in an incident shared across social media. On May 16, 17-year-old Raleigh was found deceased at his home in Suffolk, Virginia.

Chilling video footage, which spread rapidly online, showcased the rising star waving a gun around in front of the camera. He seemed to switch off the safety, pointed the weapon at his head and fired just as the video abruptly ended.

Monica Savage, the heartbroken mother, replayed the disturbing moment she found her son injured. Speaking to 13News Now, she revealed: "When I came in the house, and I seen my son in his blood... I ran across the street, and I almost got hit by a car for going across the street trying to save my son's life.

"I didn't know he had a gun. I did not know he had that. I just want my baby back. That's all I want. I miss my baby." Monica reminisced about her son's love for music, admiring the talent he brought to his creative space.

Sharing about Raleigh's work, she said: "He had some nice music on YouTube. He got some nice songs. He rap real good." Suffolk Police confirmed that a 17-year-old tragically died from an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Detectives are currently examining the teenager's phone for any potential leads as the investigation continues. The family has announced that Raleigh will be privately laid to rest on Friday.

Initially, there were claims that the video circulating online was fake, with some questioning how the footage could have been posted if the rapper had already passed away. However, it seems the video was recorded during a live stream.

In the wake of this tragedy, the teen's devastated family set up a GoFundMe page. According to the fundraiser, Raleigh was his mother's only child and she did her utmost to provide for him.

A cousin of the rapper shared on the fundraiser: "Hello, my aunt recently lost her 17-year-old son from a self-inflicted gun wound to the head. He was her only son! She was a single parent but took care of her son the best she could. Suicide/accidental was the cause of his death we are still trying to figure out why."

"But anything I mean anything can help her at this time of need. He was her only child she was also an only child it was always her and her son. Anything can help! Please keep my family in your prayers thank you so much."
