31st Annual Charcoal Chicken and Brat Dinner at Boyd sees strong turnout
Sunday, April 28 was a special day in Boyd. Converging on the Boyd Fire Station from 11 a.m to 2 p.m, local residents could choose 1/2 chicken dinner for $15, a two brat dinner for $10, Brat and chips combo for $6, hotdog and chips for $4, with soda $1. Dinner was served up by the firefighters and included potato salad, baked beans, cheese curds, bread, pickle, bar, coffee and milk.

Interview: Chippewa Valley Symphony Orchestra ‘Ode to Joy’ concert
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -The Chippewa Valley Symphony is teaming up with the Chippewa Valley Festival Choir to perform one of the most famous orchestral pieces ever. News Release: The Chippewa Valley Symphony Orchestra (CVSO) will conclude its 2023-2024 season, “Wonder and Joy”, with one of the most famous orchestral works ever written: Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, “Ode to Joy”. The concert will take place Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 7:30 p.m., almost exactly 200 years after the symphony first premiered in 1824. Joining CVSO on stage will be Chippewa Valley Festival Choir (CVFC) and soloists Emily Sternfeld-Dunn, soprano; Christine Amon, alto; Mark Mowry, tenor; and Kenneth J. Pereira, baritone; all voice faculty members at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. CVSO is grateful to concert sponsors Jennifer and Samir Murty and Visit Eau Claire for their support.
