A 2,000-square-foot building is under construction for a Dunkin' store with a drive-thru in Stroudsburg.

The new Dunkin' will sit on the east side of Pocono Creek, between Wawa and the William H. Clark Funeral Home on Main Street.

According to Stroudsburg Borough Manager Larry Kopp, the new building will have a small footprint, but the building will be two stories high. He said it's primarily designed for a drive-thru and Dunkin' will use the second floor for their office space.

The new Dunkin' location is actually going to be a replacement for the current location on Main Street, next to the Pocono Family YMCA. Upon completion of the new store, the current location will close down.

The Pocono Family YMCA and Lehigh Valley Health Network have partnered to expand onto the current site of the Dunkin' location at 823 Main St.

"We're happy that Dunkin' is staying in the borough and also very happy that the YMCA is able to expand," said Kopp.

Construction on the YMCA expansion is set to start after the current Dunkin' store closes, which is estimated to be by end of summer.
