STILLWELL, Okla. — A Stilwell third grader is the Oklahoma winner in the Doodle for Google Contest.

Doodle for Google is Google’s annual art contest.

This year students had to answer the prompt “My wish for the next 25 years…” through their art.

In the contest, Google selects the best Google doodle from each of the 50 U.S. states, Puerto Rico, U.S. territories and freely associated states, the District of Columbia and U.S. military bases as the state and territory winners.

From the state and territory winners, Google selects five national finalists that will each be given a $5,000 college scholarship, Google hardware and other Google items.

9-year-old Keenan Chavez from Maryetta School in Stilwell is the Oklahoma winner in the state and territory category.

Winners in that category have their Doodles featured on the Doodle for Google gallery and receive Google hardware and other items and a congratulatory message from Google.

What Keenan wants for the next 25 years is “for everybody to come from the world to have a good life so everybody will never fight.”

Also, for a period of two weeks, people can vote for their favorite doodle from the 55 state and territory winners. These voters will help determine the National Winner, whose art will be displayed on Google.com for 24 hours.

The national winner will also receive a $50,000 college scholarship, $50,000 in supplies and tech for their school or nonprofit, Google hardware and other items and a trophy for themselves and their school.

Voting for national category is now open.
