Schroeder and Mork are SAHS Athletes of the Week

Softball

Providing important production at the top of the lineup, Maya Schroeder has been riding a hot streak at the plate and on the bases for the Stillwater softball team, which defeated East Ridge for its fourth straight victory on Wednesday, April 24.

Schroeder clobbered four hits and scored three times in the victory over the Raptors, which followed a three-hit performance in an 11-6 win over Mounds View and three hits, including two home runs in a 17-9 win at Park.

The Ponies (6-3 SEC, 7-3) were set to face White Bear Lake in a league game on April 26.

Casey Mork

Boys lacrosse

The third-ranked Stillwater boys lacrosse team is off to a strong start this season and goaltender Casey Mork has been a key contributor to those efforts.

The sophomore turned away 10 shots as the Ponies edged East Ridge 11-10 for their fifth straight victory. Mork also racked up 10 saves in Stillwater’s 15-8 victory over seventh-ranked Chanhassen and he made 13 stops in a 13-8 Suburban East Conference win over Irondale.

The Ponies (3-0 SEC, 5-0) are scheduled to host Cretin-Derham Hall on Friday, April 26.
