A man was arrested for an alleged DUI crash and subsequently smashing the front windshield of the victim’s vehicle on Tuesday night in Stevenson Ranch.

At around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, officers were informed about a traffic collision in Stevenson Ranch involving an individual suspected of driving under the influence, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP) Officer Josh Greengard.

“Officers located both parties stopped at the LA Fitness on The Old Road and Pico Canyon Road. Newhall Area units located both the involved parties, and following an on-scene investigation, determined the at-fault party to be driving under the influence of alcohol,” said Officer Greengard.

Before officers arrived on scene, the man smashed the front windshield of the other vehicle involved, according to Greengard.

Aneesha Kumar, 58, from Valencia, was arrested for misdemeanor DUI and felony vandalism, Greengard said.

Kumar was booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail.

    No injuries were reported.
