Local man charged after police find fentanyl and gun during search warrant execution

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio — The Jefferson County Drug Task Force has announced that an Ohio man was arrested after drugs and a firearm were seized during a search warrant Tuesday evening.

According to officials, the Jefferson County Drug Task Force executed a narcotics search warrant on Welday Avenue in Steubenville, where Trey Carlos Jones, 30, was arrested without incident.

During the search, detectives seized fentanyl and one firearm.

Officials say Jones is charged with one felony count of trafficking and one felony count of possession. Additional charges are pending.

The Drug Task Force, which is comprised of members of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Steubenville Police Department, and the Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office, was assisted by the Jefferson County SRT team and Steubenville Police Department.
