EQUINOX String Quartet to perform in Youngstown
At 7 p.m. Saturday, May 18, The EQUINOX String Quartet will perform its debut performance at the Youngstown Presbyterian Church as part of the site’s concert series. Musicians include David Spring, violin; Jessica Anthony, violin; Elizabeth Seward, viola; and Samantha Godus, cello. The program will include selected movements of works by Borodin, Mendelssohn, Mozart and Dvorak.
'Came out of the blue': Amherst Town Board reverses decision to borrow money for MusicalFare Theatre
AMHERST, N.Y. (WKBW) — On Monday, the Amherst Town Board voted to rescind a bond resolution that would have bonded $11 million for MusicalFare Theatre. In February, the Town of Amherst announced the town board approved a lease agreement with MusicalFare Theatre Company to bring a public theatre to Amherst Central Park, which is now the former Westwood Country Club.

The Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls USA is partnering with Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center to present a health fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, May 24, in the mall’s Center Court area (1900 Military Road, Niagara Falls), located inside entrance 2. The event features an on-site registered nurse, who will educate guests on the signs of symptoms of stroke and how to act “FAST.” The event is free and open to the public.

Tentative agreement in assessment battle reached with Station Twelve
AMHERST, N.Y. — Station Twelve’s owner and the Town of Amherst have reached a tentative settlement in a dispute over the property's assessment. Petitioner Northtown Property Owner LLC in July 2023 filed a petition in state Supreme Court in Erie County that alleged that the town has overvalued the Station Twelve properties by at least $14.67 million, according to court filings.

Two seniors in Scott Brauer’s project based engineering program, at the Niagara Career and Technical Education Center, signed their letters of intent for after graduation. May 9 is SkillsUSA National Signing Day and Emerick Muck (Wilson) and Jaiden Fleckenstein (Lewiston-Porter) both promised to put their talents to use upon graduation and enter the workforce.
