Graham signs at Missouri S & T to play two sports
One of the best athletes to come through Poplar Bluff High School in recent years has decided where he will play at the collegiate level. Three-sport (track and field, football and basketball) standout Darius Graham signed his letter of intent Wednesday to play football and compete in track and field at Missouri S&T in Rolla.
Wiedemann Makes First Season Score In 14-1 Loss To Sullivan
The Shamrocks (2-10) lost 14-1 at home to Sullivan (12-5) on Monday, Apr. 22. Thomas Wiedemann was the only scorer for the Shamrocks in the conference clash and also picked up his first run of the season. It came in the bottom of the 5th when New Haven was trailing 14-0 and needed a spark to get on the board. Wiedemann kicked off his drive by seizing 1st base on catcher’s interference and then raced to 3rd on Steinbeck’s double. With two outs, Trevor Hinten sacrificed himself with a groundout so Wiedemann could score.

Battle baseball trounced at home by Rolla
Battle baseball lost 12-4 against Rolla in Columbia. The Spartans once again were haunted by one inning filled with miscues on defense and walks. The Bulldogs (9-9) had control of the game right away, scoring their first run via a leadoff triple from Colton Petersmith, who scored on a sacrifice fly the very next at-bat. Three-hole hitter Brett Montgomery later scored on a balk, making it 2-0.
