Baseball Game Preview: McCreary Central Hits the Road
McCreary Central and Barbourville are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The McCreary Central Raiders are on the road again on Friday to play the Barbourville Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Kazee Hollifield plans softball clinic at Bear Creek
ONEIDA | Retired Carson-Newman University softball coach Vickee Kazee Hollifield is planning a softball and baseball clinic on Monday, June 17, 2024 at Bear Creek. According to Hollifield, the camp is a great place for your child to learn the fundamental skills of the game of softball and baseball. There will be players and coaches on hand to break down the skills for all ages and to be sure your son or daughter receives the utmost personal attention. Skills included are throwing and hitting, fielding, catching techniques, baserunning and bunting, and infield and outfield play.
Soccer: Oneida falls to Pigeon Forge in region semifinals
ONEIDA | Derek Keeton knew that the Pigeon Forge team his team was tangling with on Tuesday (May 14) was good. The only reason the Tigers were playing on the road in the Region 1-A semifinals was because they share a district with Gatlinburg-Pittman, a team they narrowly lost to in the district championship game.
HCHS boys edge Corbin to win meet at Williamsburg
Brought to you by Harlan County Sports. The Harlan County track team traveled to Williamsburg to compete in an all comers meet on Friday. The boys won the meet with 117 points, leading over Corbin by six points. The girls placed fifth overall with 56 points. Leslie County won the girls division with 107 points.
