    Motorcycle crash results in one person being sent to the hospital

    SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — One person was injured following a crash near Battlefield Road and Kimbrough Avenue.

    Springfield police said the motorcyclist was traveling east on Battlefield Road when it struck a van trying to turn into a shopping center.

    The driver of the motorcycle was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

    The driver of the van was not injured.

    Police said speed potentially played a factor in the crash.

    The intersection of Battlefield at Kimbrough will be closed until 8:30 p.m.
