    Comedian Nikki Glaser is performing at Juanita K. in August. Here's what to know

    Comedian and actress Nikki Glaser is making her way to Springfield later this summer.

    Glaser, popularly known for hosting television series, "Not Safe with Nikki Glaser" and "Welcome Home Nikki Glaser?" is performing her "Alive and Unwell Tour" at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, at Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday. Tickets are available for purchase on the Hammons Hall website or by calling 417-836-7678, starting at $40.75.

    In addition to hosting two television series, Glaser has hosted three different podcasts, including her current one, "The Nikki Glaser Podcast," which she launched through iHeartMedia and Will Ferrell' Big Money Players Network. The podcast dives into the latest pop culture sensations, with Glaser at the helm.

    In July 2022, Glaser starred in her first HBO comedy special, "Good Clean Filth," which was nominated for a Critics Choice Award for Best Comedy Special. She is also a producer of HBO's reality dating series, "FBoy Island."

    Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Glaser spent the majority of her childhood in Kirkwood, Missouri and is a Kirkwood High School alumna. She began performing stand-up comedy at age 18, writing her first jokes in college. She briefly attended the University of Colorado-Boulder before transferring to the University of Kansas, where she obtained a degree in English.

    As for her career on screen, Glaser has been in several different comedy movies and television shows, including Amy Schumer's "Trainwreck" and "I Feel Pretty." Glaser has also appeared on "Dancing with the Stars," "The Masked Singer," "RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars," "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" and "American Ninja Warrior."

    Following her stop in Springfield, Glaser is performing two shows at the Century Casino in Cape Girardeau at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17. Tickets are available on the Century Casino website , starting at $65.
