Valpo rallies twice, beats Bears in 12

SPRINGFIELD, Mo–Missouri State has struggled this season, especially holding the lead late in the game.

The Bears started a two-week, nine game road trip Friday afternoon at Valparaiso.

But Mo State’s Achilles heel cost them again.

The Bears were 19-1 all time against Valpo.

The Beacons led 1-0 in the sixth, Caden Bogenpohl takes this deep to straight away center, a solo shot, it’s a 1-1 game.

Missouri State blew a 5-3 eighth inning lead.

It was 5-5 in the top of the 12th when Cody Kelly takes this deep to right center, a solo shot that puts the Bears up 6-5.

But Mo State could not slam the door, bottom of the 12th a man on for Brady Renfro and he takes this over the wall in right center, a two run, game winning homer, Valparaiso wins 7-6 in 12.
