Spooner council approves license for NW Station
SPOONER — The Spooner City Council approved a Class B combination liquor license for The NW Station, formerly Jerseys in the Civic Center, at their Tuesday, June 4 meeting. Jerseys, the restaurant located in the Spooner Civic Center, closed a few months ago. Nan Hendry returns to the WI State Fair
SPOONER - The Washburn County Fair’s Cream of the Crop Cheesecake baking contest produced a dairy-rific winner. Nan Hendry of Spooner will represent Washburn County at the Wisconsin State Fair on Aug. 10 with her fresh strawberry light and delicious cheesecake. The decision was difficult, as there were many flavors of cheesecakes to choose from. The other top three award winners are: second place - Cindie Bischoffer, third place - Heather Ripplinger, fourth place - Raeleigh Ripplinger. Shell Lake Beach House to be named after council president
SHELL LAKE — The newly renamed Beach House in Shell Lake will be dedicated in honor of longtime City Council President and member Ken Schultz. Fishery biologist to speak at Stone Lake
The Stone Lake Historical Society will host a presentation by Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources fishery biologist Craig Roberts at 7 p.m. Wednesday June 19 at the Stone Lake Town Hall. Roberts recently concluded a fish survey on Stone lake. He will explain how surveys are done and what home owners need to be aware of to keep their lakes clean and enjoyable for fishing.
