    Who you will see on the Royal Court in Saturday's Torchlight Parade

    SPOKANE, Wash. -- The annual Lilac Festival's Torchlight Parade will once again be led by an impressive Royal Court.

    This year's parade on Saturday, May 18 will kick-off in Downtown Spokane at 7:30 p.m.

    The 2024 theme is "Dare to Dream" and this year's Royal Court is made up of seven young women from across Spokane.

    Potential Royal Court members were nominated by their high school and participated in an eight-week preparation course in character-building, servant-leadership, community service, integrity and teamwork.

    The final Royal Court members were selected after a series of interviews and presentations.

    Together, the group holds a 3.95 GPA and participates in multiple activities including National Honors Society, Student Body, dance team and community service programs.

    The 2024 "Dare to Dream" Royal Court will represent the Spokane Lilac Festival Association during Saturday's Torchlight Parade and will travel with the SLFA float to over a dozen festivals across the Pacific Northwest this summer.

    This year's Royal Court:

    • Madeleine Froese (Royal Court Queen) – Lewis & Clark High School
    • Chloe Matteson – West Valley High School
    • Kate Wolf – Mead High School
    • Katie Payne – East Valley High School
    • Kwynci Peters – Gonzaga Preparatory School
    • Livi Bennet – Mt Spokane High School
    • Olivia Cassie – University High School
