SPARTANBURG, S.C. — The streets of downtown Spartanburg were filled with people on Saturday, enjoying the 2024 Spring Fling.

“It’s a beautiful day and we are having a great time,” Festival goer Luna Johns told 7NEWS.

The three day annual event boasts various vendors.

“Today is the second day of Spartanburg’s Spring Fling, downtown Spartanburg and it is a happening time,” Aundi Hunter, the City’s Special Events Manger said. “Right now the crowds are coming in. We are very excited for all the vendors, people in the marketplace. It’s time to shop, shop and eat, eat, eat.”

Around 30 food vendor’s lined West Broad Street serving up funnel cakes, Greek food, burgers and much more.

“I love the Italian sausage, and I love the different booths and merchandise but most of all I just love being out with all the people,” Jones said.

Jones added that her and her husband John come every year. “We look forward to it. We enjoy the camaraderie,” Jones continued. “This is one of the things that we did when we first met. When started dating we used to come to all the festivals like this, so we just continued to do it.”

The festival also attracted some new faces.

“We knew there was a lot going on, a lot of different kinds of people coming here, we just wanted to see everything that this town has to offer, so we wanted to see it all,” Nick Miesch said.

It was also Tomas Leyba’s first time at Spring Fling.

“So far I am liking it,” remarked Leyba. “I love cars and I love food and I love people so I’m here.”

The festival also included a car show, where car enthusiasts like Jim Evans got a chance to show off what’s under the hood.

“Today, the Hub City Corvette Club, we all came out. Nine of us came out today to participate in the show and see if we can win some awards and stuff like that but basically just about getting together and having fun,” Evans added. “My car is a 2015 Chevy Corvette C7 Z51 and we have C8’s here, C3’s here so we have a good selection of vehicles today.”

For the first time ever, the festival will feature an all Jeep car show on Sunday.
