Owner of closed drug clinics is under indictment in Vermont for health care fraud, other offenses
MANCHESTER, NH – The closure of six drug clinics in two states follows the indictment in April of its owner on federal charges in Vermont. Dr. Adnan S. Khan, 48, of Grantham owned New England Medicine and Counseling Associates (NEMCA) with locations in Grantham, Manchester, Newport and Rochester, and two others in Rutland and Colchester,Vermont.
Rivendell Interstate School District passes school budget after 2nd attempt
ORFORD, NH. (WCAX) - Rivendell Interstate School District has passed their budget of roughly $15 million. Rivendell includes Orford, Fairlee and Vershire. The community voted Saturday for the second budget. The board shaved $500k off the budget after the first budget’s failure.
Strafford residents to vote on town hall renovation
STRAFFORD, Vt. (WCAX) - Residents in Strafford will head to the polls Monday for a million-dollar decision on whether to renovate and expand the historic town office building. A Town Office Committee was formed a couple of years ago after the town rejected a previous vote to buy a nearby house and turn it into the town offices. The current 150-year-old building is about half the space town officials need for day-to-day business.

Memorial Day Weekend Ends with New England Earthquake in New Hampshire
The Memorial Day Weekend ended with a weak earthquake in New England in southern New Hampshire near the border with Vermont and Massachusetts. Striking outside of West Chesterfield just across the river from Brattleboro, Vermont, USGS reports the weak magnitude 1.4 event struck from a depth of 4.6 km at 8:25 pm last night. While the earthquake was too weak to create any damage or injuries, people did use the USGS website to report they felt shaking in the area around the epicenter.
